Persons with Disabilities Additionally Supported by Europe

Woodworking machine obtained with financial support of the European Union and the Government of Switzerland through the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme EU PROGRES was delivered today to the Association for Assistance to Persons with Special Needs in Raška. This is part of the support for 11 civil society organizations from South and South West Serbia who successfully implemented projects within the first and second call of the EU PROGRES Citizens Involvement Fund with the aim of increasing social inclusion of the most vulnerable social groups.
Through New Knowledge to Employment

Within the project “Economic Empowerment of Women in Raška”, 16 women learned to produce souvenirs, while 19 persons were educated for tourism guides in order to gain employment. The project was implemented by the Raška Gender Equality Council with the financial support of 3,360 Euros from the European Union and the Government of Switzerland through the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme - EU PROGRES.
New Women Entrepreneurs Receive Financial Support

European Partnership with Municipalities Program ЕU PROGRES advertised a public call for grants supporting female entrepreneurship in 25 municipalities South and South West Serbia. This public call was advertised only for unemployed women registered with the National Employment Service and up to ten EUR 4,000 grants will be approved exclusively for procurement of machines, equipment and other standing assets. Apart from this support, the European Union and Government of Switzerland will fund up to 20 municipal gender equality mechanism projects through EU PROGRES with up to EUR 2,000 per project.
Efficiency Brings Better Infrastructure

Fifty persons representing twenty five municipalities of South and South West Serbia participated in a two-day workshop “Good Governance in Infrastructure Projects” held at Kopaonik on 11-12 September 2013. The organisation of this workshop was financially supported by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland through the European Partnership with Municipalities Programme EU PROGRES.
